Inreach report

  • The newsletter draft for May will be submitted in the next few days, for vote via email. Next month's theme is "fun and fellowship" -    Please consider writing an article or submitting an item.  The newsletter committee is also seeking additional contributions editors.  If you are interested please see Caitlyn K or Chris S for more info.

  • The Summer Retreat Planning Committee met this week.  The major news from that meeting is that a contract with DeKoven center is being sought and will be reviewed by the committee shortly.   Once that is set, a date for the retreat will be finalized.  Moving forward the planning committee (consisting of the retreat co chairs, past co chairs, IG treasurer, and IG inreach chair) will be working together, assisting the co chairs in the creation of the retreat.

  • The sponsorship workshop has not had much progress since last month.  More details to come.

  • There will be an election today for the fall gathering co chair.

Item #21n03/20-03, IFD Notes:

  • When groups have tried to provide feedback, we have had to split up and separate the literature to even get a chance to review it.  It has been too much to completely review as groups.

  • Reminiscent of people voting on legislation that has not been read.  Does this process currently engaged in help the newcomer?

  • Concern that feedback is not getting published at the meeting.

  • Much of the newly published literature has not been published.  There is much confusion coming from multiple steps guide.

  • The literature committee is not elected.  It is very strange that the committee writing 100+ pages of literature a year are not elected by the delegates, the intergroup, or other body of SLAA members.

  • Faster is not better.  This is literature meant to save someone’s life, and we are writing

#21n06/20-06, Item for Discussion:

  • Concerns about second paragraph, last sentence.  It seems to be encouraging outside issues.

  • The second paragraph, last sentence was appreciated.  SLAA is about relationship with yourself, and this felt encouraging of that.

  • Concerns that the statement is wordy.

  • The only requirement for SLAA membership is a desire to stop living out a pattern of sex and love addiction.  – If you are a sex and love addict, then that is all that is needed for someone to work with you to recover.

Encourage a rise and shine to send a delegate

Fun and fellowship

Retreat is 9/3 through 9/6.
